Melinda and Brian Ashton

President

Brian K. Ashton

Brian K. Ashton was appointed by the Board of Education of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as the second president of BYU-Pathway Worldwide in 2021. He had served as the organization's first vice president of field operations since 2018.

Ashton previously led an EdTech start-up. He received a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and an MBA from Harvard University.

From 2015 to 2019, he served as Second Counselor in the Church’s Sunday School General Presidency. He has also been president of the Texas Houston South Mission, bishop, high councilor, elders quorum president, and missionary in the Peru Lima Mission. He and his wife, Melinda, are the parents of seven children.

Vice President of Curriculum

Milton Camargo

Milton Camargo brings extensive experience in international higher education operations to BYU-Pathway as the vice president of curriculum. He was previously the CEO of Universidad Tecnologica de Mexico (Unitec), part of Laureate International Universities, and the president of AOL Brasil. In April 2019, Camargo was called to the Sunday School General Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ. He has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Instituto Militar De Engenharia and an MBA from BYU.


Matt Eyring

Vice President of Field Operations

Matt Eyring

As the vice president of field operations, Matt Eyring leads a team that works with Welfare and Self-Reliance and area presidencies and local priesthood leadership throughout the world. He previously worked as the chief strategy and innovation officer of Vivint Smart Home. He was a founding and managing partner of a global strategy and innovation consulting firm, Innosight, and was named one of Fast Company’s “Most Creative People in Business.” Eyring is a graduate of the Harvard Business School and previously served as an Area Seventy in the North America Northeast Area.

Vice President of Administration

J.D. Griffith

J.D. Griffith has oversight of BYU-Pathway's communication, institutional research, information technology, financial services, and human resources teams. He has worked with the organization since 2009 when he assisted with the creation of the original Pathway program. He previously worked at BYU-Idaho as a faculty member in the business department and as an administrator in the division of continuing education. Griffith has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Utah State University and a PhD from Northcentral University.

Vice President of Student Success

Ben Packer

Ben Packer has stewardship for BYU-Pathway student services, support, and mentoring. He previously worked as the managing director of student services at BYU-Idaho and in administrative positions at the University of Kansas and the University of Arizona. Packer was also the executive vice president for student affairs at Erie Community College. He has a bachelor’s degree from BYU, a master’s degree from the University of Kansas, and a doctorate from the University of Arizona.


Kendall Peck

BYU-Idaho Online Vice President

Kendall Peck

Kendall Peck is online vice president at BYU-Idaho and works to maintain a close connection between BYU-Idaho’s and BYU-Pathway’s online curriculum. He previously served as the dean of online programs and the dean of the college of physical sciences and engineering at BYU-Idaho. Prior to BYU-Idaho, Peck worked in drug formulation development at Abbott Labs in Chicago. He has bachelor’s and PhD degrees in chemistry from the University of Utah.
